1. What is the rating of Harrison Hot Springs Resort & Spa?

Harrison Hot Springs Resort & Spa SM has been inspected and rated by the Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) in partnership with the American Automobile Association. Harrison Hot Springs Resort & Spa has received a rating of three diamonds.

Lodgings with a one-diamond #rating provide good but modest accommodations. Establishments are functional, emphasizing clean and comfortable rooms. They must meet the basic needs of privacy and cleanliness. Rates are generally economical.

The two-diamonds ## rated lodging maintains the attributes offered at the one-diamond level, while showing marked enhancements in decor and furnishings. They may be recently constructed or older properties, both targeting the needs of a budget-oriented traveler.

Establishments rated three diamonds ### offer a degree of sophistication. Additional amenities, services and facilities may be offered. There is a noticeable upgrade in physical attributes, services and comfort.

Excellent properties displaying a high level of service and hospitality are given a four-diamond #### rating. These properties offer a wide variety of amenities and upscale facilities - inside the room, on the grounds and in the public areas.

Lodgings awarded five diamonds ##### are renowned. They exhibit an exceptionally high degree of service; striking, luxurious facilities; and many extra amenities. Guest services are executed and presented in a flawless manner. The guest is pampered by a very professional, attentive staff. 2. How do I get to Harrison Hot Springs Resort & Spa?

Harrison Hot Springs Resort & Spa is located at 100 Esplanade Avenue in the village of Harrison Hot Springs, BC. The main road into the village is Hot Springs Road. Upon arriving at the T intersection with Esplanade Avenue, turn left and the Resort is located immediately ahead of you.

From Vancouver: A 2 hour drive east from downtown Vancouver, follow Highway 1 past Chilliwack, take exit 135, Highway 9 over the Fraser River through Agassiz and follow the signs for Harrison Hot Springs.
From Vancouver International Airport: Upon leaving the airport, follow the signs for Highway 99 south to Seattle, exit onto secondary Highway 10 East, and follow the signs for Hope. Continue east on Highway 10 through Surrey and Langley to Highway 1, follow Highway 1 past Chilliwack. Take exit 135, Highway 9 over the Fraser River through Agassiz and follow the signs for Harrison Hot Springs (2 hours).
From the Interior of B.C.: Highway 1 (The Trans Canada Highway), Highway 5 (The Coquihalla) and Highway 3 (The Hope-Princeton) all meet at Hope, 25 minutes northeast of Harrison Hot Springs. Take Highway 7 south to Agassiz and follow the signs for Harrison Hot Springs. (3 Hours from Kelowna and Kamloops)

From Seattle: a 3 hour drive north on Interstate 5 to Exit 256A near Bellingham, follow Highway 539 north to Lynden, follow the signs east to the village of Sumas. Cross the border into Canada and take Highway 1 east past Chilliwack. At Exit 135, take Highway 9 over the Fraser River through Agassiz and follow the signs for Harrison Hot Springs.

From SeaTac International Airport: Access Interstate 5 north and follow the directions from Seattle.

Abbotsford Airport: Located 45 minutes from Harrison Hot Springs and with non-stop service from Victoria, Calgary and Toronto. Travel north from the airport following the signs for access to Highway 1. Take Highway 1 east past Chilliwack. At Exit 135, take Highway 9 over the Fraser River through Agassiz and follow the signs for Harrison Hot Springs.

3. What is there to do at the Resort and in the area?

Activities and facilities available at the Resort include swimming, sitting or playing in the hot spring pools, children's water park and playground, games room, Healing Springs Spa, organised children's activities, tennis and relaxing poolside or by the fire in the lobby.  The resort also has its own marina where jet ski's, canoes, kayaks, boats and sailboats may be rented. Fishing and lake tours also depart form the Resort Marina.

In the area, enjoy 3 golf courses, hiking, cycling, bird watching, horseback riding, white water rafting, the show gardens at Minter Gardens, local craftsmen and artisans, shopping and much more.

4. Are non-resort guests able to use the pools?

Unfortunately, only registered resort guests and day guests of Healing Springs Spa are able to access the five hot spring pools situated on the resort property. The Public Hot Springs Pool, located in the centre of the village at the corner of Hot Springs Road and Esplanade Avenue is available for everyone to use at a charge.

5. What are our room rates?

Room rates at the Resort vary by day of the week and the time of the year. The best rule to follow is if children are out of school, then the Resort is busier and the rates increase.

Weekends, Long Weekends, School Break (March), Summer School Break (July and August) and Christmas School Break in December are our busiest times and guestroom rates increase as a result.

Midweek periods, Sunday's Thursday night (not including long weekends) are less busy and therefore guestroom rates are less expensive.

  • Low Season: January, February March, April, November, December

Rates are generally based on double occupancy and do not include taxes.

6. Can we bring pets?

Dogs are welcome at the Resort. They may stay in our cottages at no additional charge or should you prefer to stay in the hotel proper, a charge of $100 per stay will be applied to your bill.

Please take your dog with you when leaving your guestroom. As not all guests are as comfortable with dogs as owners, please leash your dog when in the hotel and on the Resort property.

7. Check In and Check Out Time

Guest rooms are available for check in at 4:00 PM. We make every effort to have your room available as early as possible, should you arrive before 4:00, please check with the Front Desk. Guests arriving early may leave their bags with the bell desk and gain entry to the hot spring pools or take a walk through the village in the meantime.

8. Is smoking permitted at the Resort?

All of our guestrooms are non-smoking. Guests may smoke on balconies of guestrooms or in designated areas around the Resort property.

9. What is in the water in the hot spring pools?

At the source of the two naturally occuring hot springs located 300 meters to the northwest of the Resort along the lakeshore, the "Potash" spring has a temperature of 40 degrees C / 120 degrees F) and the "Sulphur" spring has a temperature of 65 degrees C / 150 degrees F. The water is piped to the Resort then filtered, cooled and chlorinated prior to filling the pools.

Analysis of the hot springs indicates that there are 8 different minerals: Potassium Chloride, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Sulphate, Magnesium Sulphate, Calcium Sulphate, Calcium Bi-Carbonate, Iron Bi-Carbonate and Sulphurated Hydrogen. The waters average 1,300 parts per million of dissolved mineral solids, one of the highest concentrations of any mineral spring. Physiologically, the hot springs are reported to promote the elimination of impurities through the skin, bowels and kidneys.

Harrison Hot Springs Resort boasts 2 indoor and 3 outdoor mineral pools.
The indoor sitting pool is cooled to a temperature of 38 degrees - 40 degrees C (100 degrees - 103 degrees F), an ideal temperature for promoting the relief of general aches and stress. The indoor crescent pool is maintained at a temperature of 32 degreesC /  90 degrees F degrees.

Two outdoor pools have been built in a setting complete with cascading waterfall, rock formations and plants to simulate a typical West Coast setting.

In the outside adult sitting pool, the hot spring waters are piped from the source and cooled to 32 degrees - 35 degrees C (90 degrees - 95 degrees F).

The larger outside family pool is also kept at 35 degrees C /  95 degrees F and has a gently sloping ramp for those who prefer to walk into the pool. The deck is a non-slip, frost-proof clay tile which is heated by hot water tubing.
The outdoor lap pool is kept at a temperature of 30 degrees /  87 degrees and is ideal for those seeking exercise by swimming lengths.
